Italy
Learn Italian in the beautiful city of Venice with its unique setting and varied culture.
The city of Venice is unique. Our language course combines formal learning sessions and the opportunity to visit and practice your language skills in one of Europe's most beautiful and fascinating cities.
Our groups are based on Lido di Jesolo, across the lagoon from Venice itself. Groups are accommodated in modern, comfortable hotels and the language school is closeby, also in Jesolo. Lessons take place either in the language school or in the hotel according to group size and the time of year. Jesolo provides plenty of choice for excursions, visits and learning situations that can be combined with cultural visits to Venice itself. Additional activities can include rowing a gondola, an italian cookery class - make your own pasta, pizza or tiramisu - at a local farm or wine tasting.
All students will receive a certificate at the end of the course.
It is also possible for groups to experience total immersion in the language by staying with local families and "living like an Italian". Families work closely with the language school and are experienced in welcoming overseas students. Each family is able to accommodate two students sharing a twin room. All families are closely vetted by both the language school and local authorities and placement is made based on information provided by the student and school to ensure maximum compatability.

VENICE.
Built on 116 islands and connected by 409 bridges, this stunning city appears to float on water. Venice, or the Divine Republic, is home to magnificent architecture and one of the world's greatest art collections. Best explored by vaporetto (water bus) and on foot. Discerning visitors travel out of season to avoide the crowds and the heat.
There are numerous places to visit and an itinerary will be put together based on group leader preferences.
St Mark's Square:
Dominated by St Mark's Basilica whose Byzantine architecture reflects the city's trading links with the East. Gols mosaica and make the interior just as impressive.
Doge's Palace
Adjacent to the Basilica di San Marco, the palace architecture exemplifies the Venetian Gothic style and thanks to the patronage of former occupants, is filled with works by Venetian Renaissance masters such as Veronese and Tintoretto.
Bridge of Sighs
An integral part of the Doge's Palace the bridge acted as a link between the courts and the prisons; its name comes from the sound the prisoners made as they were led back to the cells and was possibly their last view of the city.
Rialto Bridge
Completed in 1591, it was once the only means of crossing the Grand Canal by foot and is now at the cultural heart of Venice.
Santa Maria delle Salute
This imposing church at the entrance to the Grand Canal was built in honour of the Virgin Mary and is possibly the supreme masterpiece of Venetian Baroque. Others may simply recognise it as the church featured in the last Indiana Jones movie.
The Ghetto
The first Jewish quarter in Europe, giving its name to all other ghettos.
VERONA
Lovely city famed for its festivals, compact streets and magnificent amphitheatre. Oh yes and the house and balcony associated with Romeo and Juliet......
Combine a visit to Veron with an excursion to the theme parks of Gardaland and lake Garda.
MURANO
Long associated with glass making, the island of Murano is located in the lagoon of Venice and is in itself an interesting place to visit. A demonstration of glass blowing and glass making provides an excellent insight into this trade that has been associated with Venice for centuries.
ROW A GONDOLA
This can be combined with the visit to Venice. Timings and numbers vary according to the size of the group and time of the year so flexibility is needed for this activity.
WINE TASTING
Visit a local vineyard and find out how the wine is made. Naturally there will be the chance to taste the tipple - within limits of course!
AN ITALIAN COOKERY CLASS
Visit a local farm where, under the watchful eye of the chef, students can make their own pasta, pizza or tiramisu and then eat their creations in the farm restaurant.
AQUALANDIA
Water theme park in Lido di Jesolo which is open during the summer.
