Overview

Within the Salzburgerland is the ski area known as Sportwelt Amadé. Quite simply this area offers a massive ski region that is fantastic for school groups.

The valleys of Flachau, Wagrain and St Johann-im-Pongau combine to form the enormous Salzburger Sportwelt ski region which offers an amazing 350km of skiing. It is one of the largest ski areas in Austria where well prepared, groomed pistes and 130 lifts await you. With numerous long, gentle slopes, this ski area is perfect for beginners and intermediates enabling groups to cover big mileage for a real sense of achievement.

Most beginners will first ski on the nursery slopes local to them. At Wagrain where our accommodation is located the beginners will start off on the local nursery slopes before heading for the “Flying Mozart” gondola for high speed access to the upper slopes. Intermediates can easily explore a large area as no matter which direction you go there are always a selection of reds to develop your skills. For the advanced the Zauchensee and Alpendorf areas have some testing black runs. Snowboarders will find ample challenges in the fun parks and half-pipes at Alpendorf, Flachau and Kleinarl. The lift pass includes a courtesy bus to the Grafenbeurg side of Wagrain, giving access to Alpendorf.

We work closely with the ski school Röt-Weiss-Röt who have an excellent reputation. Not only do they provide fun lessons with excellent English speaking instructors but they also guarantee that, providing all the lessons have been attended, they will refund the cost of ski school if they have not taught you to ski!  We have never had to do this!
