Overview

Nassfeld is a sunny resort on the Austria-Italy border. It offers varied skiing for all abilities, making this an ideal destination for a group.

Despite being Austria’s sunniest resort (about 15% more than the Tirol over a winter), Nassfeld also claims to be one of the snowiest. The resort has an exceptional snow record with major snowfalls originating from low pressure systems over the Adriatic rather than the northern systems that supply snow to other parts of Austria. The weather systems from the sea provide heavy precipitation that falls as snow over the Karnten Mountains at Nassfeld.

The main nursery slopes are at Tressdorferalm next to the second station of the Millenium Express at 1590m. The advantage of this is that novices can benefit from good snow and sunny conditions rather than at the valley floor. Progression continues with wide blue runs that radiate from the beginner area. Intermediates will be spoilt by the extensive red runs that offer good progression for them too. For advanced skiers there are some testing reds, blacks and the 7.6km long FIS run back to the base lift station.

The accommodation is conveniently located 150m from the lift station. It has a capacity of 400 but is arranged in such a way that groups retain their identity – groups are allocated to their own floor and have their own dining room. Students will share rooms for 2-5 persons with teachers enjoying twin or single rooms. All rooms enjoy private facilities and are quite spacious. Meals are on a full board basis with packed lunch and are served buffet-style so all dietary needs are catered for. The hotel offers a wide range of facilities that includes a games room with darts, pool, table tennis and table football, a disco and a sports hall where students can let off steam at the end of the day – if they have any energy left! The group dining room also doubles up as a meeting/common room for in-house activities etc. Outside there is a beginner slope which can be safely used for tobogganing.

Hotel Alte Post

This 3* family run hotel is conveniently located in the village of Feistritz and offers the combination of a safe village location close to an extensive ski area. It has a capacity of 48 and so is perfect for a one-bus group looking for sole occupancy. The decor is elegant and the owners take considerable pride in welcoming and working with groups. Student rooms are for 2-4 persons and adults will have twin or single rooms; all have private facilities. The restaurant is cosy and offers a breakfast buffet with 3-course evening meal and packed lunch. There is a meeting room, and TV room for guests use.

Transfer to the slopes is approximately 15minutes. We are very enthusiastic about this hotel which we feel sure will become very popular with our groups.

Alpenhotel Marcius

The Alpenhotel Marcius is located in the village of Sonnleiten and offers a high standard of accommodation for our groups.  It is just 100m from the first lift station where there are also nursery slopes adjacent to the lift.

The accommodation has capacity for 160 persons in rooms for 2-5, all with private facilities. Meals are on a full board basis with either hot lunch or packed lunch according to preference; please advise at the time of enquiry. The hotel also boasts excellent facilities for groups that include a lovely resaurant, in-house pizzeria, small swimming pool, games room with table tennis, table footbal, billiards and a TV lounge.
