Strasbourg
The city centre, the Grande île has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site while the Cathedral and Petite France with its architecture, covered bridges and museums makes Strasbourg an ideal destination at any time of year.
In modern times the city is at the heart of European governance and power.
It is the home to several European institutions: The Council of Europe, The European Parliament and the European Court of Human Rights, thereby enabling groups to enhance their understanding of European institutions and be a popular destination for those with cross-curricular interests. Strasbourg has something for everyone.
Excursions
Day 1: Arrive by coach or train. Settle in at the accommodation. Enjoy a guided visit of the old Medieval centre or ans evening boat trip. Dinner.
Day 2: Spend the morning at the Council of Europe and find out more about democracy. In the afternoon enjoy a guided visit of the European Parliament. Dinner.
Day 3: During the morning visit the German-instigated concentration camp of Natzweiler-Struhof. During the afternoon visit the European Court of Human Rights. Dinner.
Day 4: Optional day at Europa Park in Germany. Open April to October.
Day 5: Depart after breakfast for the return journey to the UK
