A Suggested Kit List
Knowing what to pack - and what to leave out - can always be difficult! Below, our kit list offers some guidance.
A SUGGESTED KIT LIST FOR SKI AND SNOWBOARDING TRIPS.
SKI GEAR:
- One pair of trousers for skiing/boarding (ie. Salopettes) or an all-in-one outfit with elastic cuffs and ankles.
- One wind and snow proof anorak which hangs below the waist and has a hood if possible.
- A helmet
- One micro-fleece, two long sleeved shirts (cotton polo necks/T-shirt)
- Two preferably three pairs of long ski socks (not nylon/heavy knit)
- One pair of strong waterproof boots with tread for around the resort.
- Hat, turtle neck/scarf and ski gloves with inners if you suffer from cold!
- Tinted goggles and/or sunglasses with plastic lenses
- Sun cream (high factor, minimum 30spf) and lip salve are essential, plus moisturising cream/after-sun. It is better to buy from an outdoor/camping shop as it is specifically for the mountains.
- Thermal underwear/thick tights – just in case!!
- Hand warmers and toe warmers are optional.
NON SKI GEAR:
- Casual clothing for evening wear ( does not require a suit/little black dress!) Try to think about “mixing and matching” your clothes.
- Nightdress or pyjamas!
- Shoes for indoor wear
- Swimming costume – no Bermuda shorts
- Toiletries and Towel
- Hair dryer – try to share and remember the continental plug!
GENERAL:
- Small selection of first aid and any medication (under teacher guidance)
- Camera and films (expensive abroad). Disposable camera?
- Money belt/bum bag
- Passport and spending money.
- Small rucksack for journey.
- Videos for journey (to be vetted by staff!).
- Change of T-shirt and small wash bag for journey is optional.
- Pack a pair of ski socks in your hand luggage for the ski fit..
- Travel in your ski jacket and outdoor shoes – they are heavy and bulky in your luggage.
